Challenging Perceptions, One Word at a Time!
As a reader at heart, I grew up immersed in books from a young age, often finding inspiration in the words of my favorite books. At the young age of five, I was an avid reader and always craved more. Reading captured my attention and opened my imagination to the possibilities of writing my own books. As I grew up, I wanted to learn how to write a book, but I had no one to teach me. So I taught myself by writing versions of my favorite books because it was all I had at the time. Eventually, I created new characters and stories of my own. Many of them have since been destroyed, but I’ve worked bits and pieces of the old material into what I’m writing now.
I lived in Northern Idaho for four years, and the surrounding woodlands became the fantastical location of the Dresdencline series. I let my memories of the forest and my childhood shape the worldbuilding of my books, hoping to integrate the magical atmosphere that I experienced. I want others to feel transported to a new world through my books, and I hope they will become a light in the darkness.
